Can a Short Burst Diet Provide Real Weight Loss?
A short burst diet is a diet plan of eating around 800 calories per day for a limited amount of time. Depending on the amount of desired weight loss, the diet can be continued for 4, 8 or 12 weeks according to online references. This is considered by many professionals to be a very low calorie diet plan and may not be recommended for everyone. However, if someone where to eat 800 calories per day, for multiple weeks at a time, they may be able to lose a significant amount of weight. Depending on the person, it may be possible to see as much as 4 pounds of weight loss per week with a short burst diet.
There seems to be a couple of variations to a short burst diet explained online. The one above tells of an 800 calorie a day diet for a specific amount of weeks, with no variations to the amount of calorie intake. While another explains staying on the low calorie, short burst diet for 5 days per month. Then returning to a healthy eating regimen for the rest of the month. This second option is said to be designed for people who have trouble sticking to a diet plan for long periods of time. A short burst diet also appears to be similar to diets like the hcg diet, but doesn’t say you need to take any supplements or shots.
