What is The 5-Factor Diet?

The 5-Factor Diet is the creation of a celebrity fitness trainer and nutrition expert by the name of Harley Pasternak. Pasternak's 5-Factor Diet is a program that is said to be an effective and easy way to get into the best shape of your life. As explained on the official 5-Factor Diet website, www.5factor.com. Harley's client list is extensive and includes many well known celebrities.

Joining the 5-Factor Diet gives you access to hundreds of recipes, a customized eating plan, 25 minute workout program and much more. Given the name "5-Factor Diet", you can imagine there are 5 basic principles that all play off the 5 factor theme.

1. Eat five meals a day

2. Every Meal must contain 5 key ingredients:
    - Protein
    - Fiber
    - Low-GI/Healthy Carbs
    - Healthy Fat
    - Sugar Free Drink

3. Five minutes prep time for each meal

4. Free day every week to enjoy your favorite meals

5. Work out at home only 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week

While the above principles should contribute to weight loss, it's been said that the underlying/unspoken ideas behind the diet are the true value to the dieter. 5-Factor Diet - Example Day Meal Plan

The meal plan you choose must contain 5 meals a day, take 5 minutes to prepare each meal and each must include the five key ingredients with a sugar free drink.

Below is an example day in the diet.

Meal Food
1. Breakfast 5-Factor Egg Sandwich
Low-Fat Milk
2. Mid Morning Snack Non-Fat Yogurt & 1 Apple
3. Lunch

Chicken Salad
Include: Lean Chicken Breast,
Tomato and Lettuce
Large Glass Water

4. Mid Afternoon Snack Peach Slices and Non-Fat
Cottage Cheese
5. Dinner

5-Factor Salmon
Include a side salad
Sugar Free Green Tea
